Dynasty FC played a hard fought match yesterday against FC Kosova which ended in a draw with both teams taking home a point from the match. Dynasty knew they had a tough task in front of them with Kosova coming off a 14-2 win over Winged Bull last week.
Dynasty drew first blood in the 10th minute off a goal from Ismael Hernandez assisted by Pierre-Angelo Ramirez putting Dynasty up 1-0 but the lead did not last long after Kosova were able to equalize a minute later. In the 16th minute of the first half Erick Mendoza stoled the ball away from a Kosova Midfielder quickly putting Dynasty in a 3v2 advantage. Good passes between Daniel Martinez and Erick Mendoza followed by a simple one touch finish by Joseph Coker put Dynasty back in the lead 2-1. Two minutes after the second goal Dynasty put high pressure on the Kosova’s keeper causing him to make a bad pass right into Ken Melotte, who did not waste the chance to put the ball into the back of the net giving Dynasty a 3-1 lead at half.
Unfortunately after the goal by Ken Melotte he received a blue card for taunting the Kosova keeper putting Dynasty one man down starting the second half, which Kosova where able to get a goal back making it 3-2 Dynasty. Two minutes after Kosova scored their second goal they did not have to wait too long to get the third. An unfortunate deflection off Daniel Martinez put Kosova in a scoring position which they did not let go to waste putting the game again at even terms at 3-3 with 15 minutes left in the match.
The intensity of the match was already at a high level with fans chanting and banging on the boards. Kosova started to take scoring opportunities away by committing fouls to stop the flow of play. In one of the power plays Dynasty was able to take advantage of Kosova being a man down in the 10th minute off a free kick in Dynasty’s half that was taken by Jaime Finnan giving a quick pass to wide open Ismael Hernandez taking in the open space and making a pass to Erick Mendoza for a quick one two pass back to Ismael for his second goal of the match putting Dynasty in the lead again 4-3.
In the 8th minute of the second half Dynasty got a call in their favor when Kosova goalkeeper took a scoring chance away from Ken Melotte when he handled the ball outside his box resulting in a 5 minute penalty which put Dynasty in the driver seat to put the final finish in the match and put the match away for good. But indoor soccer being full of surprises and even with being a man up, Kosova got a free kick 15 yards from goal. A shot was taken and a deflection of Pierre-Angelo Ramirez put the ball towards near post which made it difficult for Keeper Brian Legorreta to keep it outside of the goal putting the game at 4 all with minutes left into the match.
Dynasty did not put their heads down. They knew they needed to get one more goal to go home with 3 points therefore Dynasty kept the pressure on Kosova. The final opportunity came when Daniel Martinez made a pass to wide open Pierre-Angelo Ramirez who only had to put the final touch on the ball, but the ball hits the inside of the post and bounces right back out ending the match at 4-4.
It was disappointing to have dropped two points in this important fixture having the lead not just once but three times in the match and at one point having a two goal lead and just letting it go to waste power plays. Over all Dynasty is proud of their performance against the team that a week ago demolished Winged Bull 14-2. We should expect that when these two sides meet again it will be another exciting and challenging match. The player of the match goes to Forward Ismael Hernandez for scoring two goals in this match and having a total of 3 goals for the season only two weeks into the NSL Indoor Season.
With the draw Dynasty has four points in the standings keeping them at 3rd place two weeks into the season. Next Week Dynasty will play a young sided Chicago Inter White which have yet to win a match and will be looking to get their first win while Dynasty look to stay undefeated.
